Craft According to 5-Murray Authors
We are celebrating the exceptional work our authors produced in our second unit of study: Author's Craft.
In our writer's workshop, we define "craft" as:
- Art of writing- intentional touches each writer incorporates into their writing to enable the reader fully immerse into their piece
- Word choice- purposefully used rich and robust vocabulary
- Sound- the music our writing creates, the rhythms in language
- Detail- Telling enough to move the reader
- Placement of words- Manipulating print to create signals for the reader: pace, tone, intensity and mood
