Weekly Update for 12-8-19
Joan MacQueen Middle School
Principal Message
Good Afternoon Alpine!
This is Joan MacQueen’s proud principal, Casey Currigan. It was a great week to be a Dust Devil. The additional rain did not dampen our spirit. In fact, it bubbled over during the Parade of Lights on Friday. The rain is going to ease up this week but the spirit will peak on Tuesday during Coach Fazekis’ Dodge Ball Tournament. Tickets can be purchased at the door, and all proceeds support the Physical Education Department. I hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday evening.
Please keep an eye out for the 6th Grade Camp registration paperwork, which will be sent home Monday. A completed pink registration document will ensure that your child has a spot for 6th-Grade Camp.
The holidays can be a stressful time for adults, and also for children. Children are very sensitive to the stress of their parents and caregivers. During the holidays, take extra time to explain to your children that holidays are about family and sharing. They will appreciate the time spent with you, and you will be able to relax for a few minutes.
As the principal of Joan MacQueen, I realize how lucky I am that I get to work with your talented, smart and funny children. They bring joy to my heart every day. I am thankful that you trust Joan MacQueen to educate and care for your children. My wish for you and your family for the upcoming holidays is that your hearts are filled with love, your minds are filled with peace, and that you are safe during the long winter ahead.
