Alief Libraries Engage

A Year of Refreshing

The 21-22 school year was a year of refreshing in all Alief Libraries. With ESSER funds, librarians upgraded their book and makerspace collections. Once again we checked out laptops and hotspots to students and staff; delivered books to students in a variety of locals; held after school homework help; showcased literacy with evening story times and virtual makerspaces; and continued delivering eBooks via MackinVia! We were even able to continue our Battle of the Books competitions, our book give-a-ways and our Little Free Library program.

Little Free Libraries

Alief Libraries are working hard to get books into the homes of all Alief community members. Each campus has their very own Little Free Library. These book-houses will be filled with free books for all community members.

Some of the Little Free Libraries will be housed in Spark Parks, others in the foyer of campuses and others in front of campuses.

Alief ISD Summer Reading

Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can't keep reading. There are many ways to keep up with your favorite series all summer long. There are eBooks in MackinVia, print books from the Houston Public Library and many Summer Reading Programs where participants can read their way to free books. Learn more about all the summer fun!
