Turn Back Your Clocks!
Veterans Day
Although we won't hold our traditional Veterans Day Assembly at school this year, we will still be taking time to honor our veterans. On November 11th, all staff and students at Ferson will watch a pre-recorded Veterans Day program. Remote students will also have the link to this presentation, so they can view the Ferson Veterans Day program. The link to this program will be shared with all Ferson families so that you have the opportunity to view it as well.
If there is a veteran that you would like to recognize by having them included in our Veterans Day video, please email our LRC director Renee Ignoffo at sharon.ignoffo@d303.org. In your email, please include your child's name, the veteran's name, the veteran's relation to your child, a picture of the veteran, and branch of the military. Please send all pictures to Mrs. Ignoffo no later than Monday, November 2nd.
Additionally, we are looking for veterans who are willing to record a 30 second - 1 minute video to be used in our presentation. We would like veterans to share something they learned while serving, something they feel elementary students should know about being a part of the military, or ideas on how elementary students could show their support for those who are or have served. If you are interested, please send your recorded message to our LRC director, Renee Ignoffo at sharon.ignoffo@d303.org no later than Monday, November 2nd.
Thank you for helping us create a valuable presentation honoring our veterans!

From the Nurse
We wanted to provide an update on important information regarding Covid exposure and return to school guidelines. The IDPH Exclusion Guidance is pictured below and also linked here for your reference.
Who is a Close Contact?
You are considered a CLOSE CONTACT of a COVID-19 positive person if you were within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more, regardless of whether either person was wearing a face covering, during the period the COVID-19 positive person is considered contagious.
If you have reason to believe that your child or another member of your family had a close contact from a Community exposure, please contact the Health Department at 630-208-3801 or your Primary Care Provider for guidance.
The role of the District 303 Nurse is to perform contact tracing specifically in relation to case evaluations that are directly associated with the school setting. Additionally, due to FERPA and HIPPA the Nurses are not at liberty to discuss student/family health status without their expressed consent.
