KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year is officially open. We strongly encourage all of our families with preschool-age children to visit the registration page of our district website and complete the quick and easy online registration process as soon as possible.
The district is anticipating that next year will usher in a full return to in-person learning. Even if uncertainties remain for your family, we strongly encourage you to register regardless. Claim your child’s spot, their school, and have the peace of mind of knowing your child is in the system and kindergarten ready. Any changes down the road can be handled without a problem.
The registration webpage has been revised to include all resources to assist you with the online process, including video tutorials.
Preschool registration for 2021-2022 is also open.
Please don’t wait; register today! View the helpful videos below.

School Health Programs
Information from Mrs. Colasurdo, Nurse
The "School Health Program" designed to improve, protect, and promote the health of all students has been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions. As a result of COVID-19, the school nurses will not be providing students with health screenings this year. Please contact your child's school nurse, if there is a specific concern regarding your child's health.
Furthermore, the Academy of Pediatrics recommends all children to have a yearly wellness visit. If your child has received his/her annual physical from a pediatrician, please forward a copy of the physical to the school nurse.
Grade 5 Parent's Information
Every child born on or after January 1, 1997, and attending 6th grade, must receive one dose of Tdap and one dose of the Meningococcal vaccine. If your child has recently received these vaccines, please send in a copy of your child immunization record to the nurses office.
I am sending this notice out to you to ensure sufficient time to meet these requirements for September, 2021. Also, if your child is planning to play sports at the Intermediate Level, I will be giving out sport physical packets as soon as they arrive.
Any immunizations or physicals received after the last day of school must be submitted to the intermediate school nurses office.
If you have any questions, please call me.

Securly-Technology Tool
Securly Classroom is a tool our teachers have access to that enables them to provide students with over-the-shoulder support. It allows the teacher a look into students’ screens* so that they can guide, monitor, and communicate with students when class is in session and students are signed into their district-provided Google accounts. Teachers can push out links, bring students to specific sites as a group, and guide them on their screens if they are struggling. Students can raise their hand if they have a question with the click of an icon and ask questions in a chat with the teacher if they need one-on-one support.
The program is enabled on all district chromebooks and is also accessible on non-district Chromebooks, Windows and Mac computers during class time when a student is signed into his/her district Google login. As a notification to students and parents that the program is in use, the district will be enabling a message box that will appear on the screen for students when a session is active.
*During a live session, the browser tab that a student has open is visible to teachers, as well as a listing of titles for other tabs. The teacher does not have access to the site or information on any other tabs and cannot navigate to those tabs; nor does the teacher have access to the computer’s desktop, menus or other programs.
ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS
Although this has been an unusual year, attending school (whether it is in person or remote) regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Elementary school is a great time to start building habits so that your children learn that school work is important. In person students are expected to attend school Monday-Thursday. In person students who attend virtually may be marked absent unless that have Covid symptoms. Please reach out to your child's teacher and our nurse. If your child is virtual and you would like them to return, please call the Main Office to arrange a start date.
