Thank you all again for all of your generous donations!!! This is a great tradition for us to continue each year at Christmas time.
JANUARY BIRTHDAYS
January 11 - Amy Jones
January 19 - Diana McKenzie
January 22 - Jennifer Shupp
January 24 - Courtney Mouser
GETTING TO KNOW - KAREN ELBIN, HANCOCK MIDDLE/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Where do you live? Warfordsburg, PA
Where were you born? New Brunswick, NJ
What is your favorite food? Hard to narrow it down, anything Italian - or chocolate (is that a food?)
What is your favorite TV Show? If TV is on in my house it's probably sports related - but no favorite shows for me
If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go? USA - I'd have to start at the Grand Canyon, see the Giant Redwoods, Rocky Mountains, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Gateway Arch, New Orleans at Mardi Gras, Florida (from Clearwater Beach through the swamp to the Keys), Niagara Falls (does the water ever stop?), the New England states, Beach Haven, NJ .... Then, maybe next weekend, I'll go world-wide! Amy Jones - I think I need to retire. :)
What did you want to be when you grow up? A Mom 1st, then paramedic - then nurse.
What was your first job, and how old were you? Babysitting. I was 12 and the girl and boy I babysat were 11 and 9. (I was more like a referee)
If you could learn a new skill, what would it be? Organizing - LOL!
What is your favorite thing about your job? It's all about the kids - I love them as thought they were my own!!
What would the title of the autobiography of your life be? "A Comedy of Errors"
If you had a warning label, what would yours say? "Don't lie to me" - I have a problem with liars and cheaters. Needless to say, the fakers don't get to far with me, and it doesn't take them long to learn they're not going to get away with it.
Do you collect anything? My kids college "shi*&" (but not on purpose). They keep coming home and bringing it with them, and then they leave it. (hello - new skill needed)
If you were a ruler of your own country what would the first law be? INTEGRITY is a must!
Who is the most intelligent person you know? My husband, Bart.
Who is your hero? My Mom. 10 Kids, 11 pregnancies, stay at home Mom - not afraid to whip our butts. (but I can't remember her ever having to do that - we knew better) and she put up with my Dad for 50 + years. She misses him terribly and still goes on, even at 89 with her current broken humeral head. Her ortho from Hershey told her she may need to cut down to an 11 pound bowling ball (from her 13 pound).
What two radio stations do you listen to most in your car? Go 106.1 and static (I live in the middle of nowhere)
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without? Every time I attempted to type something, I realized it's a necessity....family, chocolate, toothbrush.
Two pet peeves? Liars and Rude people.
Favorite hobby? Watching my kids play ball.
Would you rather have a million dollars, or be able to fly like superman? I'd take the money. I've only ever flown twice, and I don't think I'd feel comfortable without the "protection" of the plane's fuselage.
