Welcome To The 2022-2023 School Year!!

Hello PH Community!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! I know the summer seems like it goes by fast but I am so excited to see everyone, hear about your summers and start another great school year!! Our teachers, custodians and PTA have been working hard to prepare for the school year.

Please remember that Meet The Teacher is on Tuesday August 16th from 1:30-2:30. This is a time for parents to escort their students to their classrooms to meet the teacher and drop off any school supplies.

The first day of school for grades 1 - 6 is on Wednesday August 17th and will be a half day. School will start at our normal time of 8:25 and students will be dismissed at 11:25. Thursday August 18th is our first full day from 8:25-3:05 for all grade levels. Please plan accordingly.

We have had some changes in our staff so please join me in welcoming our new staff members to our PH family! We have a very talented and committed staff who believe in setting high expectations and providing a fun and challenging learning environment!

PTA membership is underway so please see below for instructions to become members. We want to continue to provide valuable and fun experiences for our families and can only do that with your help.

Coming To The School During The School Day? Please Read

Throughout the school year, it is common to have parents, friends and visitors come to the school. Please know that the safety of our students is our number one priority. The following guidelines are in place for that reason. Please read...

* All visitors are requiered to produce a valid ID that will be scanned through our RAPTOR system. If you do not have a valid ID you will not be allowed in the building

*All visitors must enter through the front entrance of the school and check in at the front office

*Meetings with teachers are by appointment only and must be scheduled with the teacher

*Only individuals who are listed in Infinite Campus under emergency contacts will be allowed to pick up a student. We will not release students to individuals who are not in our system as an emergency contact.

*Please do not park along the front of the school in the fire lane as this restricts access from emergency vehicles as well as school buses from entering properly.

*During drop off and dismissal the front parking lot is not to be used. This is only for school buses.

Message From Our PTA Presidents! Welcome Back!!

Welcome Pleasant Hill Elementary families!

Summer is coming to an end and the start of school is upon us. Our school community is ready to welcome back students for another fantastic year at Pleasant Hill Elementary!

With over thirty executive and committee positions, the Pleasant Hill PTA supports a variety of activities and events throughout the year. It is our goal to continue to build and strengthen our school community. To help us accomplish that mission, we encourage every family to join the PTA . For a small fee of ten dollars, a family membership provides access to our directory, supports PTA programs, funds exciting events, and provides opportunities to give back to our community. Please take a look at our website to view our list of committees and executive positions. If you find anything that interests you please reach out at phpta15@gmail.com; we would love to hear from you and are happy to answer any questions that you might have!

One of the most critical roles available is our 3rd VP of Ways and Means. This executive position oversees fundraising. Without membership and fundraising, we will not be able to offer the wide variety of programs and events that the Pleasant Hill community has enjoyed in previous years. If you are interested in learning more about this role or if you would like to lead or team up with someone to spearhead fundraising events such as the Read-a-Thon or Movie Night, please contact us.

We would like to thank our current PTA members, welcome those who are joining us for the first time, and encourage those who have not yet participated in the PTA to consider joining. Your active membership supports our community and, most importantly, our students.

You can join or renew your membership through our Pleasant Hill PTA website at https://phepta.membershiptoolkit.com/home. You can use the QR code on the home page or check out the Quick Links buttons on the left to activate your membership. If you are a returning family please make sure to update your information.

Enjoy these last days of summer break and Go Cougars!

Clothing Donation Bins

Every year, many children in the Palatine area lack proper clothing for the Illinois’ winter weather. District 15 has a long-standing partnership with the PATH Community Closet. The Community Closet serves the Palatine area by providing donated clothing to children and families in need. The impact of COVID has left the Community Closet with less donated clothing than in past years. We are hoping you can help by donating any unwanted clothing items at your school’s yellow clothing donation bin. The bin is located in your school’s lobby. Parents or children can place clothing items into their school’s yellow bin during regular school hours. This is a great way to put your children’s gently used and outgrown clothing to good use! All clothing, especially winter wear, is much appreciated and will be put to good use.

Reminder: Residency Verification (new students and kindergarten) and Re-Verification (Grades 4 and 7)

We want to remind our families with incoming Kindergarten, rising fourth, and seventh graders of our residency verification process. If you have not yet provided proof of residency at your child(ren)’s school, please do so as soon as possible so your child(ren) is able to start school on the first day of school.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal

Infinite Campus' Campus Parent is designed to provide parents real-time access to student information. The easy-to-use design displays what is currently happening in the classroom so you can understand, monitor, and participate in your child’s educational experience.

This portal also provides parents access to check for teacher placement and student schedules once their student is registered. District 15 has also used IC to gather parent survey responses. Make sure you have your account set up for the new school year! To learn how to set up your account, watch tutorials, or access a help center, please visit our website.

Mobile App

The District 15 mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play! To download the free app, search for "CCSD15."

This communication tool allows parents and students to quick access to important school and district information, including Campus Parent, the D15 Bullying Tip Line, a quick link to MyStop (bus stop location and pick-up times), lunch menus, schedules, parent/student handbook, directory information, school news, and more.

  • To see integrated student information on the app, click the "student information" button and log-in using your email address and your Campus Parent password. If you are unsure of your password, please visit Infinite Campus and click "forgot password." If you are still having trouble, please contact your school's main office for assistance.

  • To make sure you aren’t missing any notices, make sure you turn notifications ON for the mobile app.
