Student Success

Important Information

Grades, Attendance, and Parent Communication

It is very important to keep your grade book current. Please make sure that you are making parent contact regarding student progress.

The senior failure form is due 5/26. We will place the forms in your mailbox as we get closer to the date. Please note that any senior failure requires parent verbal contact .

Teacher Technology Inventory

Please mark your calendar: May 24th and 25th

The technology team must undergo a complete district audit of all technology. This will include all document cameras, MacBooks, desktops, IPads, etc...

The technology team will go into every classroom on May 24th and 25th to audit all equipment. (We have been asked to layout all technology pieces so the team can come by and log serial numbers and get accurate counts. Items stored in closets will need to be accessible as well.)

***I will explain in more detail at the faculty meetings.

TIA-Denton (July 19th and 20th)

Welcome to TIA, North Texas' premiere technology and curriculum conference!

As the scope of technology expands in our society, so too does it expand in the classroom. Technology in the classroom is no longer limited to slideshows viewed from a projected computer, or trips to a computer lab to type a paper. Technology has woven its way into daily life in a way that is inescapable. It is the responsibility of schools to prepare students for continuing education and careers in an increasingly digital world.

TIA has one simple goal: Provide an opportunity for hundreds of educators to explore innovative and effective ways to serve their students by fusing technology and curriculum into one, cohesive unit. This moves students toward mastery of concepts and skills. When utilized effectively, technology can promote a classroom that provides students with content knowledge alongside the intangible skills of effective communication, content creation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Each of these skills can be applied in creating success beyond the walls of a school building.

Join us in critically thinking about our technology pedagogy and practices through communicating and collaborating with like-minded educators. Take what you learn at TIA and create learning experiences for your students that will stay with them for a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you there!

Listed below are a few details that will guide you through the process.
  • Take home personal belongings.
  • Walls must be cleared of all decor, posters, and artifacts.
  • Straighten up classroom closets and shelving.
  • Departmental closets must be organized.

Capturing Kids Hearts

Challenge for this week!

Tardy, off-task behavior, or just not participating in class...If you have a student that is exhibiting one or more of the mentioned behaviors, please take a moment to exercise the use of the 4 Questions.
  1. What are you doing?
  2. What should you be doing?
  3. Are you doing it?
  4. What are you going to do about it?

These questions help the student focus on the behavior, demonstrate that he/she knows what behavior is expected, own up to the fact that he/she is not doing what is expected, and determine what he/she should be doing instead.
