NJHS Spring Carnival is a Hit
Last Friday, Mears annual NJHS Spring Carnival was a huge hit, with hundreds of happy participants enjoying the family-friendly fund-raiser. With a fun variety of creative games and activities, the Spring Carnival raised over $3600 to donate to the Make a Wish Foundation. Congratulations to Ms. Mia Daniel and all the students in NJHS for their service to the Mears community and and beyond. Go Panthers!
Students Hit the Slopes at Alyeska
This week at Mears, a group of students had the pleasure of joining a few staff members for a great day of skiing and snowboarding at Alyeska Resort. On beautiful blue bird day, students joined staff members Ms. Kari Sharp, Ms. Diane McLaughlin, and Ms. Karin Richards, along with others, for an exciting day of outdoor downhill adventure. Go Panthers!

ASD Student Art Show Begins March 3
The Anchorage School District's Fine Arts Department is proud to present the 51st annual student art show, in celebration of National Youth Art Month. Student work will be on display around our community March 3 - April 7, 2023. The opening reception will take place at the Anchorage Museum on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 6:00-9:00pm. Admission is complimentary to the public.

Dimond High School ROTC Leads Activities at Mears
Important Information for All 8th Grade Families Transitioning to Dimond High School

The deadline for DHS course sign ups is March 24. Be sure to check out this link with important information from the counseling team at Dimond High School to complete the process of signing up for classes for next year.

Students will not be able to enter any requests until the window opens March 6th. DHS counselors will be at Mears March 7th to do presentations and course selection.
Important Mears Library Announcement
Using the library during lunch will be very limited during the 4th quarter because of state and district testing. Please check the signs on the door to see if passes are available for the day. Students must have a pass to spend time in the library during lunch. Passes are handed out after first period. Always eat BEFORE you come to the library.
