Poetry Party to celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day!

Monday, April 15th, 7:30am to Friday, April 19th, 3pm

2765 Sussex Road

Green Bay, WI

Poem in Your Pocket Day is April 18th. We want to celebrate writing again this year, so get ready for the 2nd Annual Poetry Party in the Red Smith Library. We are going to celebrate all things poetry for the whole week with lots of writing centers, skype visits to share poems, and book spine poetry. Please let me know if you want to skype or if you have an idea that you would like to do with your class to participate. We had so much fun with this last year and the kids still talk about it, so let's continue the tradition!

Try out these websites!-as always, if students are using it, get parent permission first.

Glogster-an interactive Poster

Glogster- Interactive Digital Poster Creator

This year, our district purchased a subscription to Glogster, an online interactive poster creator. You can set up your class(es) and then view all the students' glogs through your account. There are step-by-step handouts located in the Technology Resources Folder. There were some hiccups as the first few teachers bravely tested this out, but we have figured out the solutions. Here are the main tips we discovered while testing Glogster.

1. Use the desktops

2. Use Chrome for the browser

3. Don't embed video unless you talk to me first. It sometimes freezes and there is a fix.

Glogster is a great tool to use as a product that has a mixture of visuals. All district staff and students already have a username and password. See me if you are interested in trying it out! I can help you get set up.

Click on Glogster or go the Red Smith Library website and it is located under Students
