Shark Bites

Informational bites to let you know what's going on!

Dear Shark Families,

We want to first thank you for a wonderful kickoff to virtual learning! We had a very successful first three days of learning. It was great to see our teachers and students video conferencing as well as participating in virtual chat/discussions. The students did a great job on their choice board activities! Our faculty "meets" via Zoom each morning to begin our busy day of virtual learning with students. We are constantly preparing new engaging lessons, ways to "see" our students and check on families, and ways to keep students growing and learning on a daily basis.

We miss the students and as a way to connect with them we are planning a Neighborhood Teacher Parade on Tuesday. We will begin in Phase One of Windmill Farms, travel to Cypress Creek/Knoll, Phase 2, Devonshire, .... We will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon to allow our staff to home at dinner with their families. We will post on Facebook as we are approaching each neighborhood to keep you updated as we travel across town. We'd love to see all of our students out waving back at us as we pass through! Please take pictures during the parade and post them on social media if you can. We are trying to promote some happiness for our students and staff during this stressful "shut-in" time. Students are encouraged to stay on their front porches/near their front doors. Please don't let students approach moving cars. Our staff members will also stay in their individual cars, but will be providing shout outs and big waves. We can't wait to see you waving back!

Learning begins again tomorrow morning! I have included links to district resources as well as hotlines to call if you are in need of support. Please let us know if we can be of assistance.

Courtney Rodriguez,
