News from the LRC
Birthday Books: Thank you to these students who each donated a book to our library in celebration of their birthday: Katie Woolley, Paige Fader, and Sean Fader.
If you are interested in donating a book to our LRC, please send a check for $15 (payable to Prairie Point) and I will assist your child in selecting a book from one of my catalogs. Your child’s name will be placed on a commemorative sticker inside the book.
The Amazing Race: Panther Style: Once again, we are having this optional competition for fourth and fifth graders. The purposes of this are to navigate websites to research a country, to build background knowledge, and to have fun. This elimination tournament began with twenty-one teams of two students each; we are now down to seventeen.
Used Book Sale: The LRC will have a used book sale in April to raise funds for the library and for a charitable organization (to be determined). When you do your spring cleaning, feel free to set aside any gently used books (preschool through elementary) to donate. We will place collection receptacles throughout the building beginning in early March.
Jump Rope for Heart Celebration
The students jumped in honor of those with heart disease and raised $4,835.00!
The three students shown were the top fundraisers of our school.
Way to go Panthers!
P.E. Reminder
Dear Parents,
The P.E. Department would like to remind you to provide your child with a pair of gym shoes to be left at school. Now that winter is upon us, many students have missed P.E. due to having boots. It's also helpful if all students are able to tie their shoes. THANK YOU!
Chili's Dinner Night
We have a special February “Tuesday” Night Dinner arrangement with Chili’s (2820 Route 34, Oswego) to benefit Prairie Point Home & School Organization.
Dine in or take your order to go for lunch or dinner any time between
Tuesday, February 9 thru Tuesday, March 1st
and Chili’s will donate 15% of your purchase (excluding taxes) to Prairie Point Home & School Organization.
Therefore, if you have special events like Valentine’s Day, Birthdays, or Anniversaries, celebrate them at Chili’s. Or dine in on Tuesday nights when kids eat free. You can come once during this timeframe or every single day…all benefiting our school. You may share the attached voucher with family and friends for this Chili’s location (2820 Route 34, Oswego) and their meal purchase will benefit Prairie Point, too.
The attached voucher contains our school’s special code. If you are an avid Chili’s diner, please feel free to make a copy prior to using your last voucher so you may continue to have your meals make a difference for our school.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at Chili’s!
Please contact Kristi Frederick at kristif275@comcast.net with any questions.
