Thanksgiving Week
* Thank you for welcoming me into the family!
* Thank you for all you do for students, staff, parents, and our entire community!
* Thank you for helping me learn about you, your work, and our entire system!
I'm grateful to work here and to know each of you! I hope that you each find time over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to share your gratitude with those you love, to enjoy good food and good times with friends or family. I will be spending Thanksgiving at my dad and stepmom's in Temecula, with our extended, blended family. I'm in charge of bringing fresh fruit, because everyone knows I cannot be responsible for cooking anything more elaborate!
CELEBRATIONS & GRATITUDE!
KUDOS
* I'm grateful that our schools and departments have such caring and supportive staff leading this important work every day!
* Thank you Jodi for helping our triad see some amazing math instruction last week! It was great to follow up our last ILC discussion by visiting classrooms across ECC that were trying Exemplars, incorporating CGI, and trying out the iReady and Ready Classroom materials.
* Thank you to Ashley, Sanjana, James, and Robyn for planning and facilitating the 2nd grade NGSS professional development last week. Teachers appreciated the hands-on experiences, the time to dig into the story of the standards, and an overview of the newest amazing segment available to them.
* Thank you Sanjana for helping me plan out the Monday Math Moments to come in the coming weeks!

Know My Story/ Know Our Story -- 5 Facts about Us
Ashley Tarquin, TOSA and North Coastal Teacher Induction Coordinator
- I grew up in El Paso, Texas and am supposedly 100% Italian. I’m a cowgirl at heart. My favorite things are Hawaii, live music, gardening, and traveling around the world.
- I graduated from high school early and moved to Austin for college. In the midst of my education, at 19, I took a trip with my mother to California and exclaimed, “I am moving here!” I dropped my classes, packed my car and did just that. As we were watching people surf at Wind n Sea, I mentioned that this would likely change everything that happened from that point on from my career to who I married. I was right about that but didn’t know it would take me this long. I have attended over 10 college and somehow every unit transferred. I managed to acquire residency in California while snowboarding in Breckenridge Colorado.
- My house is the child I never had, being a short sale dump, and has been an all-consuming project since 2009. Shawn and I got engaged there last September and we started an addition during a really rainy year. Should finally be done in November.
- I have a niece and a nephew, two god daughters and many other young and old people around that feel like family to me. My dad is my everything! I still call him Daddy. My fiancés son thinks that’s weird. Smile
- My favorite word is harmony. Feeling…there is never enough time in my world.
