Masks Required on the Bus by Federal Mandate

As you know, there have been significant updates made to our HSE Return to Instruction Plan in the past week.

Masks are now optional in the building.

Masks are still required on the bus to and from school.

We are supportive of your family's decision and encourage you to talk with your child about how each family will make the choice that is best for them.

Masks are still required on the bus due to a federal mandate. This is important to remember for all students who ride the bus daily and for all students going on field trips.

Please send a mask for your child on field trip days.

Thank you for helping our school navigate another pivot!

Students arriving after school begins miss important beginning of the day activities in class and we'd really love for them to be a part of the start of the day. Please help us reduce the number of tardies for your child and increase the number of minutes of instruction.

Car Rider Pick-Up - 2:00 to 2:15pm

Honoring Black History Month

Music Minute

Kindergarteners played the Xylophones for the first time this week!

Ask your child about playing the three little pigs and the big bad wolf!

Little pig, little pig, come and let me in!

Not one hair on my chin says to let you in in in!

Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!

It's nearly spring, and that means playground mud. Students ware encouraged to be smart around puddles and mud, but life happens. Puddles are fun!

Please put a full change of clothes, underclothes, socks, and shoes, in your child's backpack for when the mud wins.

Indiana Radon Poster Contest

We need your student’s help explaining science through art!

The 2022 Indiana Radon Poster Contest is here! This is a fun, educational, and potential prize-winning opportunity for our students.

Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is produced by naturally decaying uranium in the soil and can be drawn into homes through cracks in the foundation.

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Approximately 1 in 3 homes tested have radon levels at or above the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L in Indiana.

In order to spread the message about radon’s health hazards, the American Lung Association is calling on Indiana students age 9-14 to create a radon poster that will increase public awareness of radon gas and encourage people to test their homes.

If you choose to participate, please send your posters to central office Attn: Bob Rice by March 4. I will collect all submissions and send them to the American Lung Association by the March 18 deadline.

Full Contest details and additional radon information is available on the contest website at:
