From our Nurse

Attention: Parents of 6th Grade Students

Two immunizations are required by the state of Ohio (ORC 3313.67) before the start of 7th grade. Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis booster) and Meningitis (MCV4). Your child may already have had them at their 11 year old check up. If so please obtain a copy of those immunizations. If not, please make an appointment for your students to get these two immunizations. Once you have obtained copies of TDAP and MCV4, send them to Laurie Dobrowolski RN at E.H. Greene Intermediate School. Thank you!

Community Donation

A local business from Blue Ash, Info Tech, has made a donation to the school to pay off all student lunch fines! We are so lucky to have support like this from the community. If you had a fine and want to consider paying it forward, contact Ms. Georgia (stjohng@sycamoreschools.org) in the cafe to find out how to make it happen.

Screen Agers 2.0

We are planning a new series for parents on how to support student concerns. This idea was born from one of our general PTO meetings and has grown as concerns have shifted. This year we will focus on anxiety. We are still finalizing details, but here are the plans (mark your calendar):

March 31 - Viewing of Screenagers 2.0 with community discussion

April 7 - Presentation by a mental health professional with resources and strategies on how to deal with anxiety

April 14 - A presenter will instruct the community on what steps they can take to ensure their child's cell phone is safe and being monitored by an adult.

All presentations will begin at 6:00 pm in the Greene School Cafe

News from the Junior High

The Junior High has begun the process of transitioning your son/daughter as a seventh grader! We are confident that the outstanding academic foundation Greene has established will carry on here at the Junior High. In addition, the Junior High has a dynamic after school life with many athletic opportunities and clubs. We look forward to your family joining our Junior High community. While the transition process is in the early planning stages, we are very excited to think about your son/daughter joining us in August! Please put the following dates on your calendar:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 at 7:00pm: Rising 7th grader orientation and academic fair at the Junior High. Please note: There will be a Special Education Orientation meeting @ 6:00pm.

  • Thursday, March 5, 2020: Rising 7th grade student tours at the Junior High.

There are many more details that we will communicate to parents and students over the next few months. Please watch our spot on the S'more for the most up-to-date information regarding the sixth to seventh grade transition.
