We are Washington Mural

9th Grade Algebra students recently collaborated on a linear art work project. Students were asked to create a piece of art that showcased their uniqueness, culture, or a message they wanted to share with their school community. After using linear functions to create their art, students discovered the equations of their lines, and explored other characteristics of functions within their piece. To complete the project, students combined elements of their artwork to create a mural in the hallway near their math classroom. The mural celebrates the beauty of our school community, and includes the words "All Are Welcome" in seven different languages spoken by our students. Thanks to Fund for Teachers and EcoLab for grants that made this project possible!
