Ludwig's December Newsletter

Thinking of others this holiday season...

Wrapping Up November..

What a moving Veteran's Day Assembly we had on November 8th! Thank you to all of the Veterans and families for being a part of this special day! Our choir performed beautifully, Mrs. Creek's Power Time students created a video, and Mrs. Martinez made a heartwarming video of our students and staff thanking our Veterans! Ms. Grahovec and the Ludwig Mentors did a fantastic job of collecting items for our soldiers overseas during our "Operation Care Package" drive!

Congratulations to 4th grader, Duncan Kenney-Benson and 5th grader, Colin Ferrentino for winning the Spelling Bee this year! Our 4th grade runner-up was Maddie Kelso. The 5th grade runner-up was John Cios. All of the students who participated did so well! Thank you to our families that helped the students prepare for this contest.

District 92's PFA will hold it's annual Giving Tree Event again this year. This event helps D92 families in need. It will begin on November 20 and run through December 15. Please stop by the tree outside of Ludwig's office to take a tag if you wish to participate. Cash donations to purchase grocery card gift cards will also be accepted. Please make your check payable to District 92 PFA and mark "Giving Tree" on the envelope.

Thank you to all of our parents that attended our Parent Teacher Conferences on November 20th and 21st. It was great to see so many of you! We truly see you as our partners and appreciate your support in educating your children!

Our Star Wars Family Math Night on November 29 was a success! We had a great turnout and enjoyed watching families participate in fun and engaging mathematical activities! Thank you to all of the families who attended this event!

And on to December...

The month of December will bring us a lot of excitement as well!

The collection of new or gently used books for our Open Books (formally know as Book Worm Angels) drive will be held December 4th-8th. Please take some time to sift through those bookshelves to donate books to those who are in need!

We are looking forward to the holiday performances. The Winter Choir Concert will be held on December 7 at 6:30 pm. Ludwig’s 5th grade musical, “Bring On the Snow ” will be on December 21st at 9:00 am. Thank you to Mrs. Danley for all of her hard work in preparing our students for these performances!

The holiday parties will be on Thursday, December 21. The parties will run from 1:00-2:00 pm. The last day of classes before winter break will be on December 22. We will have an early dismissal on this day at 1:00 pm. The holiday break will start on Monday, December 25th and students will resume classes on Monday, January 8th.

Enjoy the time off! Spend quality time with your friends and families! And please...encourage your children to READ!!!

Happy Holidays!
