A Message from Principal Joshua

Greetings Lion Nation, 🍂

It is finally FALL! Well, at least based on the morning temperatures this week. Lol! We are set to have a busy month and have many important dates for you to be aware of for October and November. First and foremost, we will be holding another Vaccine Event Thursday, October 21st. Students, family members of students, staff, and family members of staff may get their 1st, 2nd, or Booster shot if they qualify. The vaccination event will once again be held in the LSHS Clinic.

The PSAT will be administered on Tuesday, October 26th to all 10th grade students. Our 9th grade students will complete a Career Assessment (YouScience), 11th grade students will complete a practice SAT through Khan Academy, and our 12th grade students will participate in a College, Career, and Job Fair. Students who registered for the SAT will take the test on Thursday, October 28th during the school day.

November 2nd is a Teacher Work Day and a Student Holiday. Thanksgiving break is the week of November 22nd thru November 26th. By the time we come back from the Thanksgiving break, Winter EOC testing will be right around the corner. Please make sure that you have checked the Parent Portal to view your student's 9-week progress report. With only 9-weeks left in this semester, it is important that students buckle down, complete every assignment, stay after school for additional assistance/help sessions in order to finish this semester with a grade that represents their learning.

Finally, I am pleased to report that we are doing a phenomenal job helping to mitigate the spread of Covid at LSHS. As we are entering flu season, please ensure that you are doing your part to remain as healthy as possible. I hope you and your families are continuing to stay well. We appreciate you entrusting us with your student and your partnership on their educational journey!

Sincerely,

Principal Travis Joshua
