The Pizitz Post

For Students, Parents & Families - April 11, 2022

Service

Our district is known for its acts of service both in and outside of our community. You may have witnessed this recently at our high school's RISE event on Friday. Opportunities to serve allow our students to grow in compassion, acceptance and kindness. We want to facilitate opportunities for our students that help them grow in their understanding of the needs around them, and the needs that exist around the world. We encourage our students to actively serve one another in big and small ways. When we work together as a community, we can make a big impact through service.

We have many ways for students to serve at Pizitz- through organizations like Ambassadors and SGA. We also have school-wide opportunities such as our annual canned food drive for a local organization. Next year, we look forward to growing our collective service-learning opportunities. We have added an elective through our Discovery 7 class (a rotating elective similar to Unified Arts in 6th grade) that will focus on servant leadership. Our hope is that our 7th grade students can lead and support school-wide initiatives that will have the greatest impact on our community.

At Pizitz, we define service as lending a hand to help someone else. Whether it is organized or spontaneous, we can all grow in our efforts to help someone in need.

As a reminder, Friday, April 15, is an inclement weather day. We do not have school this Friday.

Our Robotics Team Needs Your Help!

Did you know that two of our Robotics' Teams made the world championship for this year? Two teams will be headed to compete in Dallas, Texas the first week of May.

Our teams could use help to fundraise for their trip. Some of you will be celebrating Easter and/or Mother's Day over the next few weeks. Take this opportunity to purchase a gift card from Honey Baked Ham. Our students will get monies to contribute toward their trip.
