SCHEDULE & ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Attention all families: We seem to have some confusion regarding the student schedule. Students in Cohort A and B have virtual classes and live/in-person classes here at BHS. Students are required to attend both their virtual classes and their in-person classes. The classes are different sessions; they are not a repeat of what we do in live classes. Please check to ensure that your student is attending both sessions.
As a reminder, the schedule can be found on our BHS Smart Start site: https://sites.google.com/bremertonschools.org/bhs-smart-start-2020-2021/home
CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION
Cohort A: Monday, May 10th
Cohort B: Thursday, May 13th
Cohort C: Monday, May 10 or Thursday, May 13th
Time/Place: 12:45pm - BHS Commons
When students arrive for school, they will complete their daily health screening and then report to the Commons before their first class to pick up their grad gear. Graduation gear will be handed out by the Representative from National Achiever, who will also be available for ordering questions. Visitors are not permitted in school buildings, so please have your student pick up their own order.
Haven't ordered your Graduate's cap & gown yet? It's not too late! Graduation Day (June 11th) is approaching fast, so place your student's order here: https://nationalachiever.com/product/high-school-cap-and-gown-unit/ Graduation caps & gowns (and additionally purchased grad gear) are delivered to the school and distributed on designated days set with our National Achiever Rep.
MEAL DELIVERY CHANGES
Beginning the week of May 17th, meals will no longer be delivered on Wednesdays throughout the District.
- Two meals will be distributed via bus on Tuesdays.
- Students/families can still pick-up meals at any school on Wednesdays.
CULINARY ARTS 1 & 2 STUDENTS & FAMILIES
Next week, May 10-14th, we will be doing a salmon 'surprise' lab. Ms. Blank and Mrs. Lobe will be giving out a small fillet of salmon and letting your student create something using ingredients available to them at home. More information will be posted in Google Classroom on Monday, May 10th. We wanted you to be aware so that you can plan accordingly. As per the lab agreement, if a student is missing more than three labs, they will not get the next lab ingredients. Please encourage your child to complete those missing labs by either cooking or doing one of the non-cooking options available to them in Google Classroom so they can receive their salmon starting on May 10th.
Thank you for your support in the Culinary Arts program,
Ms. Blank & Mrs. Lobe
STAND UP FOR KIDS
Stand Up For Kids is here at BHS giving FREE prepackaged food 9am-11am every Friday. They are also available to assist with clothing and personal hygiene items if needed. No appointment or sign-up necessary! The Stand Up For Kids representative is located at the Ohio Street entrance of the school.
