Halloween Information

On Friday, October 29, 2021, students at Washington School will celebrate Halloween by showing their spirit and taking part in classroom activities after lunch.

As we prepare for our Halloween celebrations, there are some things we'd like to share with you.

  • Halloween spirit wear or Halloween themed festive clothing can be worn for the day. Please be sure that clothing is appropriate for school.
  • Classes will work on individual projects or crafts.
  • Designated class parents are welcome to assist and have to follow Covid protocols for entering the building.
  • No food.
  • No goodie bags.
  • Classes will stay together.

Congratulations to our Broadcast Club on their first broadcast of the year!

Curriculum Connection

We kicked off our author in residence program with a terrific virtual assembly with author, Elly Swartz. She inspired us with her message about bravery. In the words of Mrs. Swartz, "The thing you're passionate about, doesn't have to be the thing you're good at today. It just has to be the thing you love enough to keep going!"

We are looking forward to our workshops which begin in November.

"Sum" Fun with Math

As we wrap up Chapter 1: Whole Numbers and the Four Operations, we look ahead to Chapter 2: Fractions and Mixed Numbers.

Parents, encourage your children to continue practice their fact fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts!

A Message from Our School Nurse

If your child is exhibiting any signs of congestion, runny nose, cough, etc. and/or you have administered medicine to treat any of these symptoms, please err on the side of caution and keep your child home. Please call me with any questions or if you'd like to discuss a specific situation.

Our students have been doing a terrific job with wearing masks as we have started the year. If possible, please include an extra disposable mask in your child's backpack for emergencies (mask gets wet, dirtied, breaks, etc.). We do have some extra masks if needed, but this will allow your child to use a preferred mask in this event and keep our stock replenished. Thank you as always for your support.

Congratulations, Washington!
