CORRECTION: 1-3 Musical (Kindergarten will hold their performance in December). Sorry for the miscommunication.

On Wednesday, November 15, the 1-3 grade classes will hold 2 different performances.

From 12:30-1:30, the students will invite their grandparents for an afternoon show.

From 6:30-7:30, all families are invited to attend for the evening performance.

PTO is still on the look-out for volunteers to help with the set-up.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Thank you for making the car rider adjustment to the back parking lot so easy. We have been tweaking and adjusting the process ever since we started.

On Drop-off:

1. Pull all the way up to the sign.

2. We need the students to get out of the car on the curb side only, as it is much safer than walking around the car, especially when it is dark.

3. We are getting the kids out from only 2 cars by the curb. Please wait until we give the go ahead to release the students. I appreciate the patience you have shown so far.

4. Please use the front entrance, if you arrive after 7:50 am.

On Pick-up:

1. Pull all the way up to the sign.

2. We will be able to load the first 2 cars on the curb side.

3. We have been telling students to keep eyes ready to see who is next. Please have that conversation at home as well.

4. We will keep the students on the sidewalk, until you have pulled up in one of the first 2 spots.

5. If you are later than 2:35, please pick up your student at the front entrance.

Recess and Outdoor Clothing

It's getting COLD outside! The temperature was 39 degrees Fahrenheit this morning, and we had many students arrive at school wearing shorts, t-shirts and no jackets. Remember, kids go outside for recess as long as the temperature is zero or above. We'd like to share a good "rule of thumb" during the cold weather months...

* If the temperature is below 60 degrees, kids should have a jacket/sweatshirt.

* If the temperature is below 40 degrees, kids should wear long pants, shirts with sleeves, closed shoes (no sandals) and for girls who wear skirts or dresses, they should wear tights/leggings underneath (no bare legs). At these cold temperatures, kids should have a COAT/winter gear.

Accelerated Reader

Remind your children to read to get points to shop at the AR "store" at the end of each quarter.

FYI: 1st ISTEP practice

On Tuesday, November 7, we will hold a practice session with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to check the infrastructure of the testing company. It will run from 10-11, but will not take the whole hour.

PTO

Please think about getting involved with the PTO and its many opportunities. You will meet some hard-working, passionate parents.

Spirit Wear

Your child brought home information about spirit wear. Orders are due November 10. Check out graphietees.com.

Read Like A Champion

Our push this year is to get all students engaged in reading every night. We would, of course, love for the whole family to join in as well. Take some time to read as a family or use the time to read silently.
