HOME RESOURCE GUIDE FOR PARENTS
Here are some fun ways that you can help promote your child's social and emotional well being at home all month long:
Week 1 Jan. 3-7
• Students - What is your goal for the week? Share with others.
• Parents - Implement a sleep routine, and provide nutritious food and limit junk food
• Parents - Help your children create a Boredom Bottle with activity ideas for when they’re bored
Week 2 Jan. 10-14
• Students - Write a letter to someone who inspires you to be the best you.
• Parents- Family Game Night! https://psychcentral.com/lib/family-fun-in-a-box#1, or table games
• Parents - Acts of Service or Kindness for Others. Practice kindness for others by participating in a community service, writing a letter or phone someone who lives alone, or other good deeds with your child. https://www.edsurge.com/news/2020-04-02-10-ways-parents-can-bring-social-emotional-learning-home
Week 3 Jan 17-21
• Students - Go on a walk and think of 3 things you are grateful for. Share a picture on your social media!
• Parents - Enjoy a daily family dinner without smartphones or technology distracting anyone
• Parents - Involve your children in a task or housework according to their age (folding clothes, hanging clothes, setting the table, vacuuming their bedroom, organizing their closet, or feeding the dog, etc.)
Week 4 Jan 24-28
• Students - Take a break from electronics today, even if for a short time. Focus on the present.
• Parents - Bake and Cook a Meal Together - Get your child to help in the kitchen.
• Parents - Celebrate the day / week. Try to find something small to celebrate each day or for the week.

School Volunteer
Those wanting to volunteer in the school and/or go on any field trips must complete the volunteer agreement below. You must also get the necessary background checks. Once the background check has been ordered and the paperwork below is complete it needs to be turned into Mr. Parker in the office. Volunteers cannot be approved until all steps are finished and paperwork has been turned in. You will not be allowed any access to the groups or your student on field trips without this being done.
FIELD TRIPS
Just a few reminders concerning field trips:
1. Parents must have completed county background/volunteer procedures before they can interact during a field trip.
2. According to 2021-2022 Code of Conduct, all students must ride the bus to and from field trips.
