Lander Newsletter Summer Edition

We have reached the last day of school and the beginning of summer break!
Dear Lander Families,
Today is a bittersweet day. I'm sure we are all happy that warm summer days are finally here and we can spend more time enjoying the outdoors. At the same time, we are sad that we could not end the school year together with our students, in our classrooms, celebrating with magic shows and picnics. Additionally, it was a bittersweet send off for our 5th graders, who have missed out on some of the fun gatherings that we normally hold.
We are grateful that you continue to share your children with us. There are silver linings to remote instruction, we have been able to connect more with children, meet their families and often their pets. The comfort that children feel in their own homes can often be a positive setting for learning to happen. We also know that remote instruction is not ideal and learning has been lost in the past few months. We are committed to working hard in the Fall to help shore up any loss in learning.
To those families who are leaving us for new places and adventures, we wish you all the best! To families who are returning, as we determine what the plans for returning to school will look like, we will communicate information as soon as it is available. There are certainly several different models that were are considering, with the hopes that all of our students and staff can return safely to school in the Fall.
Keep the learning going...
