Kim's Message
April 11, 2016
Dear Staff,
I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekends and that there aren't too many anxieties surrounding our Quality Review tomorrow. We have done so much INCREDIBLE work as a school community this year. This is our opportunity to showcase that work and to receive some feedback that will help us set goals for moving forward. I am really proud of how much we have done this year.
Our reviewer, Dr. Buffie Simmons, will be in the building from 7:30 am-4:00 pm tomorrow. The classroom visits are scheduled to take place periods 2, 3, 6, and 7 and the reviewer will select the majority of the classrooms visited. Please be sure to have a hard copy of your lesson plans for every period you teach tomorrow. You should also have recent student work either posted in the room or in a folder for the reviewer to look at. I know some teachers have portfolios in their rooms or student folders with work and this will suffice. The teacher meetings and Question and Answer sessions will take place in the grey conference room behind my office. I sent an e-mail out to everyone who will be attending these meetings.
We will meet for professional development this afternoon in the 3rd floor computer lab where we will begin exploring what makes a quality curriculum map. The meeting will begin at 2:50 and be led by Ms. Dike, Mr. Gilhooley, and Mr. Premo.
I am out of the building for most of the day today at a meeting with the Superintendent. If you would like feedback on a lesson for tomorrow or have any questions about the Quality Review, please do not hesitate to e-mail me. I should also be back before the end of this afternoon's PD if you would like to speak with me then.
Warmly,
Kim
