This Week at MHS
Here's what is happening Sept. 21st through Sept. 25th!
MHS Parents and Students,
Tuesday, September 22nd is a designated ACT test day. All MHS students will be testing from 8:30-12:00.
For SENIORS, this is the official ACT for college admissions and scholarship reporting purposes. There is no digital format for this assessment, so digital and hybrid students will need to report to MHS to test. We will offer designated digital learner only sections for our digital and hybrid students. Please have your mask and bring a photo ID, #2 pencils, and a calculator. You will report to your testing room as soon as you arrive that morning.
Room assignments are divided alphabetically by last name:
A - D (Room 131)
E - L (Room 132)
M - R (Room 133)
S - Z (Room 134)
You will be dismissed after testing is completed.
JUNIORS will take an online practice version of the ACT. This report provides instant results and feedback that will help you plan for improvement on your next official ACT. Traditional students will test at school. Digital and hybrid students will test through our lockdown browser at home.
SOPHOMORES will take the pre-ACT. The pre-ACT provides both current achievement and projected future ACT test scores. Similar to the official ACT that seniors will take, there is no digital format for the pre-ACT assessment. Digital and hybrid sophomores will be rostered into the same online version given to juniors and will test at home. We will offer designated digital learner only sections for our digital and hybrid students.
There is a special bell schedule on ACT day. Please see the schedule below. All other days will follow the regular bell schedule.
Herff Jones will be here on Thursday, September 24th for the Junior Ring Assembly. The assembly will take place from 9:45-10:10am and a link will be sent on Thursday to all junior digital and hybrid learners to participate.
Wishing everyone a great week!
Reminder - it is expected that all students will wear face coverings before school, during passing periods, at break, and any other times that social distancing cannot occur.

TN College Application Week!
School counselors visited senior classrooms all week to assist 12th graders in completing the TN Promise Scholarship application. For more information about this program visit: www.tnpromise.gov.
Next week, September 21-25 is TN College Application Week. This statewide initiative is designed to bring awareness to the post-secondary application process and should involve all students, not just our senior class. School counselors have several fun activities scheduled including college chats with teachers, prizes at lunch for seniors who have completed applications and the ever-popular College Fight Song Challenge!
COLLEGE VISITS
If your child wants to "meet" with the rep virtually, they have two options to do so.
- He/she can come to the library conference room during break on the date of the visit. School counselors will be there and will host the rep virtually with a group of students.
- Students can RSVP to the specific visit within the SCOIR platform. The morning that the visit is set to take place, we will email the Zoom code to your son or daughter.

Monday, September 21: Sewanee (virtual)
Wednesday, September 23: Bellarmine University (virtual)
Thursday, September 24: Savannah College of Art and Design (virtual)
