Located in Northeastern Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is a sight for sore eyes. With Kilbo towering 19,340 feet and its slightly smaller Mawenzi reaching 17,564 feet, you can enjoy a beautiful view from the peaks of these mountains. You also can get a good taste of African coffee and plantains raised on the lower southern slopes of the mountain.
Deep in the Western part of the Ethiopian Plateau, the Ethiopian Highlands are a great place to be. Most likely formed from volcanoes millions of years ago, the Highlands have it all. Full of mountain ranges cut off by rolling hills and deep valleys, you can hike, bike, and just have fun. The HIghlands also offer the beauty of the Blue Nile, which runs through the center of the Highlands, starting at the beautiful Lake Tana.
Located in North Central Tanzania, Serengeti Plain is a great place to take your family, friends, and kids of all ages. The Serengeti Plain has altitudes ranging from 3,000 feet to 6,000 feet. There is also a National Park containing over 500 species of animals. This 100 mile Plain is surely a sight that can't be missed.
In the middle of the Indian Ocean, Madagascar is the perfect getaway. With plenty of agriculture, you can see all kinds of farming and culture. This area is also largely deforested.
