News and Notes
Happy New Year Buffalo Families,
Yesterday and today have been focused on connections, re-establishing routines and expectations, and welcoming students back for a new semester. Today we celebrated students that earned keys for second semester in an all school assembly and it is always exciting to honor all of our students which demonstrate our 8 keys. A few notes and reminders:
- Handbook Policy regarding Cell Phones- Our staff work to maximize every minute of the day with purposeful learning activities that support their growth academically, socially, and emotionally. For this reason cell phones are not allowed at any of our elementary schools in Shawnee Heights as they can become a distraction. Our handbook states the following: Toys, sporting equipment, and personal electronic equipment (ipods, DS, kindles, cell phones, etc.) should not be brought to school unless special arrangements with school personnel are made. Items that interfere with learning, cause a disruption, or create a hazard will be confiscated by school personnel. The school cannot be responsible for personal property brought to school. Any valuables brought to school are the sole responsibility of the student and parent.
- Recess and Winter Weather Reminders:
- Classes will go outside as long as the windchill is above twenty degrees.
- We strongly encourage families to send boots or an extra pair of shoes when it is snowy outside.
- If your child needs coats or winter accessories please contact Mrs. Boyer at boyerm@usd450.net.
With Buffalo Pride,
Mrs. Bervert

About Me
As an elementary principal I enjoy working collaboratively with staff members to support student learning. I am passionate about continuing to learn professionally, and building relationships with staff and students at Berryton Elementary. When I'm not serving at Berryton Elementary I am usually with my husband and two sons. We can be found at sporting events, cheering on Kansas State University, or just enjoying a movie at home.
