Join us in celebrating World Down Syndrome Day

What is World Down Syndrome Day?

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), is a global awareness day which has been observed since 2012. This year the day falls during Woodfield Elementary's spring break so we will be celebrating on March 17.

The date for WDSD is typically celebrated on the 21st day of the 3rd month to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. Please join us in celebrating the day~get those silly socks out and remember to wear them on March 17!

Kids Heart Challenge - All School Celebration!

Thank you all for assisting our students getting registered and earning donations towards the American Heart Challenge! Woodfield raised an astounding $16786.21! To celebrate we wrapped up the Heart Challenge with an all school celebration. Any student that was registered had their name entered into a spinning wheel and had the chance to be selected to "Pie their Teacher". The top 4 donation raisers were randomly selected to pie Mrs. Grimm, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Voegeli, or Mrs. Canales. Thank you to our teachers and staff for such a great event - the laughs, cheers, and fun was contagious!
