RHS Youth Equity Committee
Rockville High School has a new group of students in action! The Youth Equity Committee was formed last Fall, and is starting 2021 with several initiatives to celebrate the varied ethnicities and cultures of our diverse high school community. They’ve begun to gather information from staff and students who have volunteered to share their ethnic backgrounds in order to display representative flags in a prominent place in the school.
The Youth Equity Committee has also planned many ways in which to celebrate Black History Month. Student members are researching significant people and events in Black History and giving announcements to share their knowledge with the whole school. This research is also being made accessible through slides that are seen on our T.V.s throughout the school. We are so proud of the passion and hard work our Youth Equity Committee has shown in such a short amount of time, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
Please take this Survey!
In an effort to celebrate the rich diversity that comes through our doors each day, the Youth Equity Committee would like to purchase flags of countries that represent our students and staff. These flags will be hung in a designated area of our building. The Student Equity Committee created a short survey to collect this identifying information
Have you taken the survey? Click HERE or scan the QR code with your phone or tablet.

These students placed among 65 other state semi-finalists out of close to 1000 competitors. This distinction is an amazing honor. Please congratulate the following students on their accomplishment. And congratulations to their teacher, Shaune Santos!
