What Should I Be Doing Now?
Get familiar with the features in your Naviance account.
Naviance is a comprehensive website that you and your family can use to help in making decisions about colleges and careers. Naviance is a service we use at Perry Hall to track the college application process and you will be using it frequently in your Junior and Senior year.
-Students can access their Naviance account from their BCPS One homepage.
-Parents are highly encouraged to sign up on Naviance. Go to the website below and click on "I need to register". Parents will need a code to register which they can obtain from the school counseling department. Email Ms. Campbell for your code scampbell3@bcps.org
Some things that you can do on Naviance:
-Research colleges using the awesome "SuperMatch" tool
-Naviance lets us share information with you and your family about up-coming meetings and events, local scholarships and other resources for college and career information.
-Find out about careers that match your personality traits
-Use the resume builder to begin tracking jobs, volunteer work and internships.

Updates on open houses, fee waivers, college visits, scholarships and much more!
1st Quarter is almost over!
-Attend homework club or a coach class with your teacher.
-Visit Khan Academy to view videos on all subject areas.
Community Service/Service Learning Hours
Colleges are going to ask you what you did in high school to serve your fellow man/woman! Make sure you have something to say and btw, it's a great feeling!
Animal shelters, soup kitchens, libraries, daycares, retirement homes, assisting an elementary or middle school, are all great ways to earn hours!!! Also, check out these upcoming events:
-Do you enjoy working with senior citizens? Are you a musician? An artist? Or do you have any special skills? Share your time with the seniors at the Cottages of Perry Hall.

Raise Me Scholarship!
Your student can earn $ for college as early as 9th grade by creating a portfolio and including community service, good grades and extracurricular activities. Things they probably are already doing!
