Counselor Appointments and Schedule Changes

Our counselors get incredibly busy during the first few weeks of school making sure that students are placed into appropriate classes and don't have any holes in their schedules. We appreciate your patience as we make sure that our 900 students get where they need to be!

If you have a hole in your schedule (for example, your schedule says you have a 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th period - but there's no 3rd listed), please report to the counseling office during that hole to fix your schedule.

If you need to meet with your counselor for any other reason, please fill out this form (https://tinyurl.com/shhsappts) and your counselor will contact you as soon as possible. They will be checking these responses frequently to ensure they are meeting high priority situations quickly.

Student and Family Handbook

Please visit our newly revised SHSD Student and Family Handbook here. Hard copies will be available upon request for families. An acknowledgement form will be sent home the first week of school to be signed by the family. Please return it to the AAP teacher by September 14.

New Website!

School Safety

Our students' and staff safety is our number one priority. As a district, we are working on ways to increase security by decreasing access points in the building and investigating additional security measures in consultation with the police department.

That is one reason we are asking all of our students and staff to enter the school building through the main doors in A Building. We also ask that all visitors check into the main office for a visitor's badge so we know who is in the building in case of emergency.

Please read the following information of our Standard Protocol for emergencies and our Parent Reunification plan. As a school, we will practice different scenarios so we can be prepared for any event, should it arise.
