National Junior Honor Society
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
The purpose of the W.G. Sanders Junior Honor Society is to promote character, scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and service. Membership is open to 7th and 8th grade students. Any student desiring to participate must:
- Have a cumulative 3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher during the 1st semester of the 2022-2023 school year.
- Receive an endorsement from one of our faculty members.
- Have an exemplary behavior record.
The National Junior Honor Society is based on the five pillars of NJHS:
Scholarship
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5.
Service
Service involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation.
Leadership
Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from class, school or community activities while working with or for others.
Character
The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and generally maintains a clean disciplinary record.
Citizenship
The student who demonstrates citizenship understands the importance of civic engagement; has a high regard for freedom and justice; respects democracy; respects the law for all citizens at the local, state, and federal levels; and demonstrates mature participation and responsibility in activities such as scouting, community organizations, or school clubs/athletics.

Tiger Wrestling Team with Coach Hall-Brown!
We have added Wrestling!
Did you know that we now have a wrestling team? Come out and support Tiger Wrestling. Our coach is Coach Omari Hall-Brown, and he is excited about this new sport! We will share the schedule once finalized.
SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH!
STEM DAY
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education puts an emphasis on preparing future generations to be successful in their careers. The skills gained extend beyond those needed to be successful in STEM fields. To expose students to a variety of skill sets within STEM, our Tigers are gearing up for STEM DAY, November 18, 2022.
KEENAN MATH ENGAGEMENT NIGHT
To continue our focus on math within STEM, the Keenan Cluster schools (Keenan, Sanders, Greenview, and Burton Pack) are hostinh a Math Engagement Night on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
Additional Important Reminders
Do not drop off children at any athletic games. Remain with your child.
Students must wear ID's every day, all day.
Only clear bags are allowable at athletic events.
Students cannot be dropped off at school prior to 8:00 am. Supervision is at 8am
