Winter weather and how to stay updated
With the official start of winter on the horizon, SPS wanted to share a few helpful tips (provided below) about how and where staff, parents and community members can access information about school closures, delays or other changes that take place due to inclement weather. For additional information about how the district deals with inclement weather, visit: bit.ly/SPSsnow.

Board workshop: Basic Roles and Responsibilities
At their recent fall planning meeting, Springfield School Board members completed a workshop to better understand their roles and responsibilities. The current 2019-20 board is made up of a number of newer members, so much of the training focused on the basics such as school board best practices, details of their roles and what is expected of them as a policy board. To learn more about the training, follow this link. bit.ly/2XzrkIQ
Humans of SPS
We recently launched a new social media project called Humans of SPS! The weekly Instagram posts aim to capture Springfield Public Schools staff and showcase some of the hard work, passion and heart that they bring to SPS buildings and our community every single day. We want to celebrate the unsung heroes of our school district -- our Humans of SPS. We hope you enjoy learning about the wonderful people who make our district thrive.
If you have a person in mind that you'd like to nominate, send an email to the SPS Communications Department at pr@springfield.k12.or.us
