Aces in the Air by HeWhoPutts
Elevation: 12,000 feet
Palms sweating, nervous laughter
Engines buzz like swarms of bees
Enemy Squadron, 12 o' clock
Stay in a tight formation
Engage at will, gentlemen
Bullets fly, airplanes tumble
One down. A Second. A Third.
A fourth, and fifth. Suddenly
All is calm. The smoke settles.
Men are accounted for, and
tallies are taken. Robert!
You shot down five planes today
Congratulations ace,
You have earned your wings.
