How To Keep Passwords Safe

  • Passwords should be seven to eight characters or longer
  • Use combinations of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers
  • Don't use consecutive numbers or letters such as "abc" or "123"
  • Try a passphrase- a sequence of words strung together to create a password
  • Don't keep your passwords on devices such as your phone or iPod
  • Don't write them on sticky notes and stick to your computer monitor
  • Change your password regularly
  • Don't give your password to anyone unless you trust them 100%
