Averill Park HS
March 2018 Newsletter
A Message from the APHS Leadership Team:
As the month of March begins, we look forward to the upcoming events that the spring will bring us here at APHS. This month will prove to be busy, with much happening throughout the school to bring us together as a community. In addition, with approximately 15 class weeks remaining in the 2017-18 school year, we want to send a vital reminder to students that maintaining and improving academic progress should be the focus as we move into the spring season.
We encourage all students and parents to continue to monitor student attendance and academic progress using SchoolTool. Second quarter report cards are viewable in SchoolTool, and we are moving towards the mid-quarter reporting period for Quarter 3. Report cards are no longer being mailed home or sent via email, with grades being reported via SchoolTool. Please ensure that you have updated contact information available, as it is important for teachers, counselors, and administrators to reach you when there may be concerns regarding academic progress. Please take some time to review your information on SchoolTool to ensure that we have the most up-to-date phone numbers and email accounts. If you need to make any changes, or need to set up an account, please contact the Counseling Center.
With the upcoming events for the spring, please remember that we have Eligibility Guidelines for student participation and attendance at extra-curricular events and activities. We want our students engaged in these fun activities, but it is an earned privilege through being in good standing for academics, attendance, and behavior. If you have any questions regarding your child's eligibility, please review the guidelines here and reach out to your child's Assistant Principal.
Congratulations to our 2nd Quarter Honor and High Honor recipients! The Honor lists can be viewed here. Congratulations are also extended to our Quarter 3 Citizenship Pass recipients. The recipient list is here.
