Learning Coach University
We have a Learning Coach Facebook group you can follow all year! Like us today at https://www.facebook.com/ISWALCGroup/
STEP 1: Accounts and expectations
First things first! New families, you'll need to set up your Learning Coach account (this is a new account, separate from your Parent Portal)! Read this help article to find out how.
Learning Coach Account: We've made some changes! Learn about your Learning Coach account here: https://www.smore.com/t6p1r
New students are REQUIRED to complete a short orientation course within the first 5 days of school. This ORN 10 will be found in the Student Account under the Classes tab. Complete this short course with your student as soon as it is available.
Assignments at ISWA
- There are two types of assignments at ISWA: teacher graded and computer graded
- Computer graded assignments do not have a deadline and can be submitted throughout the trimester
- Teacher graded assignments have both a due date and a deadline date
- Teacher graded assignments should be submitted by the due date; however, you will not be penalized if you submit the assignment by the deadline date. Assignments submitted after the deadline will be worth 50% of the grade that would have been awarded had it been submitted on time

STEP 5: School Email and Office 365
Email is how teachers and school staff will communicate most often with students. It is VERY IMPORTANT that students both read and respond to their emails daily.
- Watch this video about ISWA's school email.
- Read or watch the video about downloading Office 365!
STEP 6: Trimesters
Insight School of Washington is on a Trimester System. These are shorter than a semester system and allows students to take more classes and subjects throughout the year. Final grades for classes are completed at the end of a Trimester, all work in a class MUST be finished by the end of each Trimester.
2017/18 Trimester Dates:
Trimester 1: 9/5-11/22
Trimester 2: 11/30-3/7
Trimester 3: 3/13- 06/15
