Chapter 11 Lesson 2
Science
Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
Say you we in a tug of war and it is an exact tie. What kind of force is that? If you answered balanced force you are correct. Now if we in a tug of war and you want to win and I am exerting 50 lbs of force how much weight will you have yo have to exert? If you said anymore than 50 lbs you are right. So what kind of force is that? It is unbalanced.
Newton's Laws of Motion
1st: An object in motion tends to stay in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon.
Ex: If you leave a book on the table it be there in 2 hours.
2nd: The acceleration of an object is dependent upon the force acting on the object and the mass of the object.
Ex: A baseball goes farther than a bowling ball hit with a bat.
3rd: Every action has an opposite and equal reaction.
Ex: A balloon flies forward when air escapes from the back.
Velocity
The velocity is the speed and direction on an object
Law of Conservation of Momentum
The total momentum does not change when two objects collide.
