Food for Thought

PTSA is in need of your help!

We are looking for help with PTSA membership & leadership for the 2019-2020 school year. This doesn't mean any one individual needs to command the ship . . . we are all in this together. Remember, many hands make light work! Our PTSA provides great support for a variety of Kellogg programs throughout the year. We would love to have you join! Email for more information or simply join us at our next meeting, May 8 at 6:30pm in the Kellogg Media Center!

Chat & Chew

Consider using this image as a conversation starter during dinner or downtime!

What ways work best for you to cope with stressful situations? How do your friends cope? What are some unhealthy ways kids cope with stress? Which of these strategies might you be able to share with a friend?

(This image offers a great Advisory connection! We are talking about perspective this quarter in our Second Step curriculum!)

Discuss the graphic. What are the differences between equal and equitable? Think of allowance or money you earn for helping out. How does equity and equality play into what you are paid for the service you provide? Now think about how that transfers into the work place. What do you experience at school or on a team that seems unequal but still equitable?

Pick-up and Drop-off Reminders

(see diagram below)

The following procedures should be followed from 7:15-7:40 and 2:10-until all buses are gone.

  • Doors open at 7:10 a.m.
  • The main circle / turn around near the main entrance is reserved for buses ONLY before/after school.
  • If you enter from the west, you will loop around and head out toward Broadway.
  • If you want to drop off in back, you must enter from the east. You will exit toward Broadway.
  • No cars will be allowed to enter the back lot from the west parking lot with the exception of school buses and school vehicles.
  • Handicap parking is available in the back at door 6. Please access these parking spots from the east during these high traffic times.
  • When waiting for your child after school, please be aware that other cars are arriving behind you. Pull as far forward as possible to allow others room to park.
  • CAUTION. While we work to get all students to use crosswalks, this does not always happen. Be alert to students who may be crossing outside of crosswalks!
