AP's Announcements
Hello, Knights! We are so excited for the month of May. There are many celebrations and fun events going on in the school. It will be a busy, energetic, and rewarding month!
Testing Update:
We are wrapping up ILEARN in the upper grades. Fifth grade and third grade have completed all their ILEARN assessments. Fourth grade has one more day on Monday (Science Performance Task). The students have been working hard and doing their best the past two weeks! I’m sure they are ready for a break! We will be pulling students for make-ups next week and look forward to being completely finished by the end of the week.
NWEA Testing will be completed in all grades on the following days:
Kindergarten & 1st Grade- May 8 & 9
Second Grade- May 10, 11, 15
Third Grade- May 16, 17, 18
Fourth Grade- 16, 17, 18
Fifth Grade- 10, 11, 15
ARMOR Update:
We love celebrating our Knights in Shining ARMOR for the month of April. The students were chosen from each class for staying on task and being great listeners! The Knights came down to the office to get a coin for the book vending machine and have their picture taken. I loved making those positive phone calls home! We love celebrating positive behavior choices!
The Big Event is coming up! We are going to be having a GLOW dance party in the gym to celebrate students who have earned 150 ARMOR tickets this year on May 19th. The dance will take place during the student’s specials time. If you have any questions about your child’s ARMOR tickets, please contact their classroom teacher directly.
Thank you for a great school year! I feel so grateful to be working with these amazing students, parents, and educators.

CGES Field Day 2023
On Friday, May 12th, Center Grove Elementary School will have their annual FIELD DAY!! This is a fun-filled day for students and staff to participate in physical activity sports, and work together on teamwork.
To maintain the safety and security of our campus ONLY those parents signed up to volunteer will be able to participate in Field Day. Parents and Guardians will not be allowed to walk around with the classrooms. Sign-ups for parent volunteers will be going out later today. We understand that you want to be here to support your child(ren), but having over 1,000 students, staff, and parents on campus we must limit this to parent volunteers only.
Please have students dress appropriately for the weather that day. Students will need to wear their class color shirt, tennis shoes, sunscreen (we are not allowed to apply sunscreen to students), and bring a water bottle. Please apply sunscreen on your child(ren) prior to coming to school that day. By law we can have Non-Aerosol Sunscreens brought to school, but we do need a note if the student needs assistance putting it on. All sunscreen will be stored in the classroom and not the clinic.
Class t-shirt colors:
KDG: neon green
1st: neon yellow
2nd: orange
3rd: gray
4th: black
5th: red
The student day will look different, due to the fun events scheduled. All K-2 students will participate in Field Day activities in the morning, and 3-5 will participate in the afternoon. Please look at the schedule below:
Schedule
9:10 – 11:30 – Kindergarten – Second Grade Field Day Stations
12:30 pm – 2:50 pm – Third-Fifth Grade Field Day Stations
Kona Ice will also be on campus for an extra special treat. Students will visit the Kona Ice truck throughout the day.
Parent Volunteers:
We will be sending out the sign-ups for parent volunteers today.
Volunteers will need to check in at the office prior to the day’s events.
Volunteers will have a name badge to identify that they are part of the Field Day activities. Please make sure you keep this on at all times.
Parking – Parking will need to be on the CGES campus, due to events at CGMSC. Please do not park in the CGMSC parking lot. You may use any parking space on the CGES campus, including the bus lane. If you park in the CGES bus lane, you must move your vehicle by 3:30 pm to allow our buses to park.
Our CGES parents are AWESOME and we love the support you show us every day! We are sorry we cannot accommodate parents to walk around, but we appreciate your understanding of maintaining the safety and security of our campus. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
