Football 2022 - A Season for the Record Books!

Traveling Tidepools A Traveling Tidepool made visits to each elementary and middle school's after school program providing hands on learning and lots of laughs and squeals of delight! | Tis the Season for Giving! The District is blessed to have many community partners who generously give to our families! Seasonal highlights included the annual "Unstuff the Bus" event, the Soboba Gives Back Toy Distribution, the Spark of Love Toy Giveaway sponsored by the Riverside County Fire Department and Fire Station 78, and a Santa visit to the Foster Youth/McKinney Vento Advisory meeting and to our Elementary Special Education classrooms thanks to PetSmart and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department San Jacinto Station | CBI Graduation Celebration Friends and families gathered in the SJHS Theatre on December 15 to celebrate students who graduated from the Community Based Instruction (CBI) program. A spring celebration was held on May 31. Each of these students finished their high school career with a certificate of completion and then continued for four additional years in the post-high school CBI program |

Robotics Club CompetitionMonte Vista Middle School Robotics Club members developed basic mechanics and electronics skills along with quick trouble-shooting and problem solving ability during fast-paced head to head competitions. | 100 Days Smarter! We've passed the 100th day of school. Our students are 100 days older AND 100 days smarter!! | A Day to Remember a Season We Will Never Forget! On January 20, 2023 the community gathered to celebrate with the SJHS football team and coaches for a history-making season. The afternoon festivities included a parade down area streets and a rally filled with food, speeches, and special recognitions. |

Thank you to keynote speaker, 60th District Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson, and all who made this event so wonderful! | What's for Lunch?! First grade students from Park Hill Elementary took a cross-town field trip and toured the SJUSD Central Kitchen. Both the students and the Nutrition Services staff had a great time! |

Traveling Reptiles OASIS and ELO students recently met some new friends...a loveable Blue Tongued Skink and a shimmery yellow Burmese Python during a visit from Traveling Reptiles. | Meet SahidCheck out this Valley News article about Sahid Aguilar, an SJHS Junior and Workability I Program student. The article also highlights the benefits our students are given through the Workability Program due to the dedication of SJUSD Program Coordinator, Robynn Gualtiere. We are so proud of Sahid who commented, “Everyone is different and we need to learn to work together, even though we are not the same.” | Student Voice Students from San Jacinto Leadership Academy and Mountain View High School were the featured presenters at the San Jac SPEAKS meeting on March 8. Each of the eleven students shared personal stories of what their school means to them and told of the many things available to students through classes, programs most importantly, the support and encouragement from staff. |

We Are So Proud of You!Honorees of the Special Education Drive-Through Recognition event were greeted by the SJHS cheerleaders and band and a line of supportive students, teachers, staff and parents. | Golden Achievements Fifty secondary students were honored by the San Jacinto Board of Trustees for extraordinary achievements at the annual Golden Paw Awards. | Celebrating the Arts Family, friends and community members were treated to musical performances, dancing and artwork at the SJHS Art Festival on April 5! |

When I Dream, I Dream in Many Languages
A celebration acknowledging hard work and accomplishment was held on May 5, 2023 at the SJUSD Multilingual Learners Awards Program. This year, SJUSD saw a tremendous increase in students eligible for reclassification (from 187 to 300), the number of Long Term English Learners that reclassified (160), and also the percentage of eligible students that completed the reclassification process (94%). The increase of biliteracy award recipients (22 to 54) is also equally impressive.

San Jacinto Middle College High School SJUSD is partnering with Mt. San Jacinto College to launch San Jacinto Middle College High School beginning in August 2023. Students can potentially graduate with their high school diploma, IGETC certification and an associates degree saving an average of $30,000 in college fees. | SJUSD Mass Band Concert Elementary and Middle School students from across the district arrived by the busload for a mass band concert at San Jacinto High School on May 19. | Class of 2023 AwardsMVHS and MHA recognized graduates at a Senior Awards Night on May 2. SJHS honored the Class of 2023 at Scholarship Night on May 24 and a Senior Awards Assembly on May 26. |

Ed Foundation Reception The Education Foundation hosted is annual Recognition Reception on May 3. The evening honored employees, students, a local business and an alumnus. | Book Vending Machines Elementary students across the district are now able to "purchase" books with tokens received for meeting success criteria. Battle of the Bookworm winners from Estudillo made the first "purchases"! Click here to view videos about the vending machines which were created by principals for their students. | Student of the Year Winners Named The Student of the Month Committee hosted the Annual Student of the Year Awards Dinner on May 17 and announced the top individual from each school in the Valley. Several students also received other scholarships. |
