JCMS 'Knightly' News

April/May 2017

Start STRONG, Finish STRONGER

Only 8 weeks of the 16-17 school year remain. As we work through the last 2 weeks of April and begin the month of May, we are expecting our students to have an amazing finish. If students have not had a good start, they can still have a good finish! And students that have started well and worked hard, need to finish the race they have been running. In the game of baseball, stopping at third adds no more to the score than striking out. It doesn't matter how well you start if you fail to finish. Let's commit to hard work, excellence, and achieving our goals as we finish this wonderful school year!!!

In the newsletter below there is an abundance of information regarding upcoming concerts, end of year athletic events, testing dates, and an updated school calendar to finish out the year. We thank you for your support and making sure the end of the school year is wonderful for your students.

You can do this by clicking the survey link below. Thank you so much for your feedback as we work to improve learning for your child. The survey should take no more than 5 - 10 minutes.

National Junior Honor Society Service Learning Projects

Penny Drive with Dr. Brower

As a Service Learning Project, seven of the JCMS NJHS students are holding a Penny Drive/Fundraiser to assist the Onslow Women’s Center with the purchase of pest-resistant mattress covers for 28 beds, and personal care items, such as soap, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. The initial goal is to raise $500.00 by April 28, 2017; however, the JCMS Family donated $324.79 as of April 14, 2017, and we are expecting to raise about $600.00. Additionally, the students contacted the Onslow County Animal Shelter and Animal House to request temporary, pro bono sheltering for animals whose owners are housed temporarily at the Women’s Center.
