Keller High Student Accepted to Nasher Summer Institute for Teens

Keller High Art Student, Grace Hansen, has been accepted as one of thirty students to the Nasher Sculpture Summer Institute.

The summer institute chooses students based on a teacher recommendation essay and student work. Art instructor Kerri Carter wrote about Grace:

"Grace has an attention to detail that is really impressive. She thinks through the entire project before she starts. Grace has pushed the limits of what you can do with clay. She puts forth college level sculptures with every project. She is definitely an artist at heart."

The Nasher Summer Institute for Teens is a week-long program that exposes students to many aspects of museums and the art world. Participants can expect:

• In-depth learning experiences with artworks in the Nasher Collection.
• Sessions with a variety of art-world professionals, including educators, gallerists, conservators and designers.
• Hands-on projects focused on artistic process with practicing, professional artists.
• Visits to selected museums and galleries.

"Wait Wait... I Can Explain!" is a comedy extravaganza. The story follows a boy, Jason, and his girlfriend, Sheila, whom is meeting his family for the first time. There's only one problem. Jason's family is majorly embarrassing. So, what else is there to do but hire a fake family? His plan seems great until he runs into an issue. His family comes home and chaos ensues!

To find out what happens next, come support the Titan Theatre program at Trinity Springs Middle School to see Wait Wait... I Can Explain! on May 19th, 20th, or 21st at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.00 a ticket. Concessions will also be sold for $1.00 each. Keller ISD employees get in free! Please contact Shayna Coyne at TSMS for more information.
