Keller Rotary Club

Keller-Harvel has been adopted by Keller Rotary Club. They will be completing several projects on Saturday, April 9th. The following projects are planned: picnic tables under the trees at the gym/cafe foyer entrance, a new backstop, soccer goals, planting trees around the playground and painting new games on the blacktop. They are scheduled to begin April 9th. We are very excited to be partnering with all the members of the Keller Rotary.

Class of 2029 ~ Kindergarten Round-Up

If your child is new to Keller-Harvel and will be in Kindergarten and/or 1st grade for the 2016-2017 school year, please call us beginning Monday, March 28th through Friday, April 1st to schedule an appointment to register your child. Appointments will be made during the week of April 4th - 8th. All campuses in Keller ISD offer a full day Kindergarten program. If you know any neighbors who will have children eligible for kindergarten/first grade next fall, please share this information with them.

Our incoming Kindergartners and their families are invited to join us again on May 3, 2016 from 6:00 - 7:00 to hear more about our school and to help answer any questions you might have.

Safe Haven ~ Freedom from Domestic Violence

We will be collecting donations for the North Tarrant County Women's Shelter, Safe Haven between April 4 - April 29. There will be a box located in the front foyer just outside the main office. Safe Haven's greatest needs are as follows: Women & Children's underwear and sleepwear, new & gently used clothing for women and children, flip flops, shampoo/conditioner, personal hygiene items, combs/brushes, toothpaste/toothbrushes, body wash/deodorant, towels/wash cloths, twin bedding/pillowcases, baby bottles/sippie cups & pacifiers, diapers, and powdered laundry detergent.

Parking Lot changes

We have been receiving a number of reports of students who are being dropped off in the parking lot. Students are then left to cross the parking lot on their own and are making their way to the cross walk unsupervised.

To ensure that our students and families are kept safe, we will be placing cones down to block off all through traffic in the first row of the parking lot closest to the building. If you would like to drop off your child, please use the designated lanes in the front of the school.

General PTA & STAAR Information Meeting

Want to learn more about STAAR? Join us on April 4th from 8:00 am- 9:00am as we welcome Keller ISD Assessment representatives, Jennifer Price and Marjorie Martinez as they give us an overview of this assessment. Bring your questions too! There will be a brief General PTA meeting prior to the presentation so that PTA can complete the voting process for the Executive Board.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program, which was implemented in spring 2012, includes annual assessments for

  • reading and mathematics, grades 3–8
  • writing at grades 4 and 7

  • social studies at grade 8

Students in 3rd & 4th grade only will also receive a FREE BREAKFAST on the mornings of their STAAR exams. They will be able to go to the cafeteria as early as 7:30
