More information will be shared next week. Please stay tuned!
Thank you for staying connected and engaged in your child's educational journey! Remind your scholar to read, read, read! :)

Learn about the stages of early reading, strategies for finding the right level and type of book and what support personnel, resources, and networks of individuals are available to support literacy development for your scholar.
Other Important Information:
- Forward and DLM test windows will not open as planned on March 23 due to the Governor’s executive order to close schools for the duration of the public health emergency.
HAWTHORNE'S VIRTUAL SPIRIT WEEK
Our PTA is wanting to keep our scholar engaged and excited about seeing each other, even if it's just virtually. Since many will be home, please read the challenge for Spring Break.
If you haven't done so already, follow Families United PTA / Familias Unidas PTA on Facebook, they look forward to seeing you there!
Have fun everyone! Can't wait to see your pictures!
District News
To keep you better informed about School District of Waukesha Attendance Policies, I have included a brief explanation of notifications that all district students receive:
Medical Warning letter: All families will receive a letter when students are excused by parents after 5 (combined) days of school. This includes excused absences for vacations, illness, funeral, etc.
Excessive Absence/Medical Excuse Required: All families will receive a letter when students are excused by parents after 10 (combined) days of school. At this point, parents will be required to bring in a note from a medical provider to be medically excused from school. If there is no doctor’s excuse, the student will be marked as truant.
Habitual Truancy Notification: This letter is sent after students accumulate 5 or more truancy periods.
Tardy Notification: All families will receive a letter when students are tardy 10 or more times.
Whenever possible, please bring a note from a doctor
to excuse your student
