Monday Mandatorial Attendance- Our teachers at IVA use the Monday Mandatorial to support students in their learning. Students can be referred to Mandatorial by their teacher, counselor, or administrator. Parents will be notified by email if a referral has been made. We appreciate your support and help in ensuring that your student attends if requested by an IVA Staff Member. Operation School Bell: Assistance League® of Irvine is starting our annual Operation School Bell Program, which provides new school clothes, shoes and backpacks to income-qualified IUSD families. OSB will be done in a safe environment following COVID protocols. OSB will begin January 19, 2021 and go through April 3, 2021. IVA Connect
What: Open Zoom rooms dedicated to specific topics for students to connect with old friends or to make new ones – New topics are held each week.
How: If you see a topic that you like, join the zoom link after TA and connect with others with the same interest.
When: Monday after Advisement – 2:00 PM.

Trivia- Do you love trivia? Do you want to show off your knowledge of random facts? Join us for Virtual Trivia with counselors Ms. Kim and Ms. Nguyen! Topics will include Game of Thrones, Dog Breeds, Movies and Geography! We hope to see you there!
Minecraft- Minecraft is a sandbox video game developed by Mojang. Come connect with others who play, share your fav mods, builds, and discuss the future of gaming.
Career Exploration- Come and gather to discuss career exploration! We can chat about the process overall, go to breakout rooms with people who are interested in similar fields or education targets, or answer student questions
OCC Application Workshops- OCC Outreach and Onboarding Team will be hosting application workshops for new students, including high school seniors. If you are interested in attending the event please sign-up.
IVC Honors Program Night- IVC is hosting a Honors Program Student & Parent Night on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm via Zoom. Attendees will have to register and a zoom link will be emailed as soon as registration is complete. For more information click HERE.

SAT and ACT Prep Afterschool Classes- IPSF is offering high school students engaging online SAT and ACT Prep classes. ACE Online classes are kept small to provide individualized instruction and maximize the online experience for all students. The next session of classes start January 26.

SENIORS- FINANCIAL AID- It is time to fill out the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application! All Seniors planning on attending a four or two year college or trade/technical school should apply for Financial Aid. Deadline to apply is March 2nd, but it is recommended to apply as soon as possible. Senior Families have two opportunities to get assistance filling out applications. Your Sophomore students should have completed the following during TA during the month of February:
February 1st - High School Planning Conference Video including information about graduation and a-g requirements, resources at Irvine High, career exploration and college planning. Video HERE
February 8th - Course Planning and Completion of HS Planning Worksheet. Students access the Planning Worksheet using their IUSD Log In, make a copy, and share with their Counselor and Parent/Guardian. If they did not complete this step, please view Instructions HERE and the Worksheet HERE
February 22nd - Completion of HS Planning Worksheet, Q and A Session and Post Survey.
