Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday, January 16th marks the celebration of a man, and to many, a hero who believed in all people, especially those who were not given an equal opportunity in this country. When we take a look at history, we all hope to celebrate progress and change. This day represents all of the hard work done towards equity, equality and human rights. As Dr. King said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Dr. King was also a strong advocate of change through nonviolent civil actions. We celebrate this day to recognize the work of Dr. Martin Luther King and others who continue to fight for our civil rights.
