Recently at LPS...
The varsity volleyball girls played their last game of the regular season, won both games and celebrated the Seniors!
Then players & student section fans watched the boys soccer team win their regional game in Big Rapids!
LPS has 5 All State cross country runners!
THIS WEEKEND - LPS Drama Presents... Imagine It! - October 27, 28 & 29
Think about a place called Town that has strict rules on imagination. Now think about some
determined kids who have other ideas and begin their journey to show others the potential of
imagination. Soon everyone is realizing how important it is to being one’s self and to have
one’s happiness. Watch and listen to IMAGINE IT! as the songs and acting illustrate the fears,
determination and laughter!
IMAGINE IT! is a one act musical play, lasting about 45 minutes with no intermission. Tickets
will be sold at the door, or the box office, or at mynorthtickets.com. Adult tickets are $12.00
and child/student $10.00. This play is appropriate for all ages.
8th grade students enjoy reading outside while we still can!

Capture the flag with Revolutionary War rules. Colonists, British & French compete with varying levels of skill organization and passion for the cause!

Upcoming Dates to Remember
October 28th - Picture Retake Day
November 1st - No School for Students/Staff Professional Development Day
November 9th & 10th - Parent Teacher Conferences. You will be able to go online to schedule in the afternoon or evening blocks in person or online. The sign up link will be coming out soon.
November 9th, 10th, 11th - Half Day/Dismissal of Students 11:30 a.m.
The Class of 2024 invites 3rd-5th Grade students to two afternoons of activities, movies and snacks on Nov. 9th and 10th.
Wednesday's theme/movie is Big Hero 6 and Thursday will feature a Ratatouille theme.
Time: 11:30a-3:15p
Cost: $10/student/day
Students will need to bring their lunch or purchase a grab-and-go bag from the LPS Cafeteria!
Dress Code / Cold Weather Reminders / Recess During Extreme Weather
The weather has transitioned in the last week. Please ensure your child has cold and rainy weather clothing during the school day.
Please also reference the LPS Dress Code linked below as a guide for appropriate clothing options during the school day.
During more extreme inclement weather (pouring rain, extreme cold), we make the gym available for inside recess.
Lost & Found
Students in Eryn Sluiter's classroom have started a lost and found project. If your child has misplaced a clothing item or some other possession, please check the link below. If you see your child's misplaced item, complete the claim form and the item will be returned to your child. Mrs. Sluiter has a couple of parents to help and if you would like to offer your support to this amazing project, please let her know!

Miss Ellie, one of our new cafe cooks, also owns Antojitos food truck in Northport! Miss Ellie is a great cook and makes everything from fresh pico to fresh tomatillo salsa every Friday for taco day!

Covid guideline reminder from the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services
Read & Sign Parent/Guardian Medical Consent Policy
Parents/guardians must provide consent for their minor child for nursing care provided by the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department School- Based Nursing Program (SBNP). Students without a signed parent/ guardian consent will not be seen, except for a student’s first visit to the school-based nurse, when staff will call the parent/ guardian before providing any services, for a one-time-only verbal consent. The waver is linked below.

The Affordable Connectivity Program
Have you heard about the Affordable Connectivity Program? Have you heard about it, but still have questions? Look no further!
The Affordable Connectivity Program is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. This new benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application.
