Panther Weekly
News from Park View Elementary School: December 9, 2022
Please help the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club bring some holiday spirit to local families through the 2022 toy drive. All the recipient families live in the Glen Ellyn school districts (CCSD 89 and District 41). The Junior Woman's Club will be collecting toys through Tuesday, December 13.
The annual toy drive provides toys to more than 200 children on the sponsored families list. If you would like to participate, please donate a new, unwrapped toy (male, female or family-oriented) for a child between the ages of birth through 11 years.
For full toy drive details - including shopping, shipping, and toy collection instructions - visit glenellynjuniors.org/toydrive22

Park View Dollars
Hello Park View families! The holidays are fast approaching! If you are looking for gift ideas for your Park View teachers and staff, the Park View Dollars program is underway! Through Park View Dollars, we collect contributions for individual staff members and combine them into one large gift that staff members use to purchase the gift cards of their choice from our vendor.
For example: if five families contributed $10 each to Ms. Mullany, Park View Dollars combines those contributions together, and presents Ms. Mullany with a gift certificate for $50. The gift certificate contains the names of all the families who contributed, and she can use it to select whatever gift cards she likes.
The electronic Park View Dollars form is attached, and can also be found on the Park View PTC Facebook page. If you have any questions about how the program works, please reach out to Wendi Egan at Wendi.L.Egan@gmail.com.

Be sure to review requirements before bringing food for other students
If you’re bringing food to the school for a holiday party or other event, be sure you know which foods are approved. You can see the holiday party food list at www.ccsd89.org/holidayfood and the pre-approved food list at www.ccsd89.org/preapproved. Both are on the district’s website under “Quick Links”.
New to the 2023 yearbook: Community photo upload!
A fun new feature of our yearbook this year is the ability to have our Park View community upload pictures you are taking. This can be photos at an event, school volunteer opportunities, or class celebrations.
To upload photos directly to the yearbook site to be used in this year's book, visit:
https://community.lifetouch.com/invite...
- Use the invite code: PARKVIEW-PANTHERS-23
- Upload photos you think would be great in the yearbook: First day of school, classroom parties, clubs, band, orchestra, etc.
- When you upload them, title them with your student's grade and the activity pictured so they can be organized later (example "4th_Halloween")
Contact Hope Serritella at PVYB2023@gmail.com with any questions.
Families may be charged for damage to district technology devices
Families should have a conversation at home about the importance of appropriately using the district's technology devices (as outlined in the district’s Acceptable Use Policy.) Appropriate use includes: carrying the device carefully, keeping liquids away from devices, and not leaving devices in areas with extreme heat or cold.
When a district device (such as an iPad or Chromebook) is damaged or lost due to negligence or misuse, the repair or replacement will be the family’s responsibility. A list of charges is available at: https://www.ccsd89.org/techdamage
